Last post by ShehdanVarner - Sep 11, 2024, 05:18 PMWe will be renting a narrowboat in Bradford on Avon and traveling to Bath. 2 hours of travel time Saturday afternoon, approximately 4 hours the Sunday morning to Bath; stay in Bath Sunday night and Monday morning; travel 2 or 3 hours Monday night; then on to Devizes and back to Bradford on Avon by Saturday morning. I can figure everything out on planning the journey except staying in Bath for two nights. Thank you very much.

Canalplan Site issues / Overnight stopping places
Last post by PubBud Brian - Aug 21, 2024, 01:13 PMI have been using Canalplan for years and have found it incredibly powerful and flexible. But I just noticed that one of my most-used features now appears to be missing: the ability to mark certain places along the route as overnight stopping places, i.e. to override the computed stopping places. Has that capability been removed or might I have inadvertently altered some setting that is responsible for the issue?

New Features in CanalPlan / Pipe Bridges
Last post by Shultzy - Aug 16, 2024, 11:28 AMYou can get a list of the pipe bridges using the [Bulk edit of places] function under [Major Edit]. Add %pipe% in the box and the list will appear.

The whole of the Canalplan data is downloadable as GEOJSON
https://canalplan.org.uk/mapping/geodata/full/ukuk/canalplan_places.geojson
That doesn't include photos or post codes. we could write some custom queries to pull the just the name, lat,long and post codes from the underlying data but it would take some time.
Also we don't own the photos - most of them are on a sharealike licence but some are still fully copyrighted by their original uploaders
