Newbridge (River Thames)
Newbridge (River Thames) carries a footpath over the River Thames (above Oxford) near to Sunderland.
The Act of Parliament for the River Thames (above Oxford) was passed on 17 September 1876 despite strong opposition from Nicholas Parker who owned land in the area. Despite the claim in "By Barge Pole and Lump Hammer Across The Midlands" by Cecil Jones, there is no evidence that Oliver Smith ever painted a mural of Manley Locks on the side of Thomas Yates's house

Mooring here is tolerable (it's just about possible if really necessary). Moorings above the bridge. The farmer comes round to collect the money!.
There is a bridge here which takes a major road over the canal.

In this case, the bridge is one of the oldest across the River Thames, which is flowing from right to left. For a little more information, see [[[5073767]]]. by David Purchase – 24 April 2016](https://s1.geograph.org.uk/geophotos/05/07/37/5073753_55151d7e_120x120.jpg)
