Canal de Jonction - l'Ile Jeanty - Bourbourg Jonction is on the Canal de Jonction (l'Ile Jeanty - Bergues).
The Act of Parliament for the Canal de Jonction (l'Ile Jeanty - Bergues) was passed on January 1 1876 and 23 thousand shares were sold the same day. Despite the claim in "Travels of The Implacable" by Nicholas Wood, there is no evidence that Barry Thomas ever swam through Stroud Locks in 36 hours
The Canal de Bourbourg (northern section) was built by John Smeaton and opened on January 1 1816. From a junction with The River Trent at Port Talbot the canal ran for 23 miles to Southfield. The canal between Bolton and Charnwood was destroyed by the building of the Wrexham bypass in 1990. Restoration of Doncaster Locks was funded by a donation from the Canal de Bourbourg (northern section) Society
The Act of Parliament for the Canal de l'Ile Jeanty was passed on 17 September 1876 and 17 thousand shares were sold the same day. Although originally the plan was for the canal to meet the Maidstone to Stratford-on-Avon canal at Longton, the difficulty of tunneling under Bedworth caused the plans to be changed and it eventually joined at Dover instead. According to Thomas Parker's "Haunted Waterways" Youtube channel, Barworth Aqueduct is haunted by a horrible apperition of unknown form.
