What Changed in January 2018
What changed in November and December 2017
→ Release 9.31.3
To 3 January 2018
- Some pre-release patches to fix a buglet in PDF generation
- Work towards a "what can I do to help" feature - main structure and demo plugin
- A tweak to let you go directly to an area or waterway or similar using a '$x:nnnn' syntax in quicksearch and placefinder
- A catch for expired sessions when PDF generation happens (probably a result of people revisiting a long-left-open tab with the PDF download on it) - as noted for issue 372.
To 5 January 2018
- Lots of work (much flagged for eventual deletion) on semi-automated merging of place_wiki and mooring_wiki to support the "what can I do to help" feature:
- Mooring information is automatically added to "additional_information" boxes
- All edits and deletions are logged and show in history and what changed/RSS
- Information is automatically deleted from the mooring_wiki (as it was with place_wiki) tables when additional_info is saved
- Fixed history tab for these as well
→ Release 9.31.4
Monday 8 January 2018
- Embedded area information in places (so if there is useful information about the pubs in a town, you don't need to add it to the visitor moorings, for example).
- Fixed a bug where you can now select top level waterways (eg 'Mainland Britain') but then get crashes. Now displays fine and helps you find a place
Tuesday 9 January 2018
- Embedded feature/structure navigational notes into places
Saturday 13 January 2018
- Fixed various bugs around interactive access adjustment and messages from navigational note creation
- Made areas display all places in them in the list (instead of just those between identifying places)
→ Release 9.31.5
- Extended the pop-up searcher to work with areas (combined them with features to reduce clutter)
- Fixed unreported bug where place links in pop-up searcher had failed
- Improved areas by merging the two pieces of canal into one if there are no junctions within the area
→ Release 9.31.6
- Added local tables to areas
- Made "last edited by" text in comments about place show the user's display name not their user ID
→ Release 9.31.7
- New "help us" plugin to search for missing waterway dimensions
- Fixed bug where "cancel" from edit waterway failed
Sunday 14 January 2018
- New "waterways missing dimensions" plugin for the "help us" feature
- Improvements to code for place and mooring wiki plugins
→ Release 9.31.8
- New "towns and cities that aren't areas" plugin for the "help us" feature
- Removed trailing spaces that could creep in when place aliases are created
→ Release 9.31.9
Thursday 18 January 2018
- Fixed styling of waterway navigational notes (issue 386 - pre-release).
Saturday 20 January 2018
- Fixed missing linear graphics on PDFs which I think I broke some time ago - issue 387, pre-release)
- Made "Regenerate Database" also re-create the names table used for dynamic search
- And fixed the "key_value" column at the same time, so should be less likely to drift off
Sunday 21 January 2018
- Made the "help us" page into a tabbed table that only fetches the data for a particular sort of change when selected. Greatly reduces the load on the system of people visiting that page
- Put the "help us" plugins into the proper place in the plugins directory, not inside build
→ Release 9.31.10
- Improved the titling of the tabs in "help us" by reformatting and renaming a couple of them
- Added a "waterway information" plugin to help us
- Improved the sorting on waterway dimensions in help us
→ Release 9.31.11
