What Changed in June 2020
What changed in March, April & May 2020
Saturday 6 June 2020
- Fix for issue 747. Involves removing a micro-optimisation. At least I think that's all it is. We shall see!
→ Release 9.35.17.1
- Added "-webkit-user-select: text' to input boxes on the new input page as searching, and experimenting, suggests that this is what is need to fix issue 750. I have no idea why, it appears to be witchcraft.
→ Release 9.35.17.2
Sunday 7 June 2020
- Fixed layout of dropdown for why a waterway is excluded from planning
→ Release 9.35.17.3
Saturday 13 June 2020
- Added attribution for map data and styles to the printed itinerary
- Made it impossible for a place to be a winding hole and also either a lock or a bridge. We still have all the code to handle the relative positions of locks and bridges - which will need taking out at some stage - but it's not possible to create anything that uses it any more. This, plus a lot of data editing work by two users has solved issue 756.
- Fixed a bug that could prevent the "map is being redrawn" feature running for some people
→ Release 9.35.17.4
- Fixed a bug where expired sessions where causing an error rather than a pop-up in PDF generation
Sunday 14 June 2020
- Restored bug fix for it thinking there were variant routes when there aren't
→ Release 9.35.17.5
- Removed the "separate_winding" tab from "help us" as no longer needed after work on issue 756 (pre-release)
- Added information to display changeline changes in place history
- Further improvements for the "map is being redrawn" to catch the same bug in another place, leading to useful removal of duplicate code
→ Release 9.35.17.6
- Pre-release patch to bug in the last of the above
Thursday 18 June 2020
- Fixed bug where code to trap and report expired sessions when generating PDFs failed and gave an error instead
Saturday 20 June 2020
- Pre-release patch to bug where cursor stuck in "busy" in route wizard
- Pre-release patch to history data to fix a lat/long problem with a few places
- Pre-release hack/patch to placefinder to stop an error with the boat database (issue 763 refers).
- Dozens of changes to the "pages" subsystem. Highlights include:
- Everywhere has a closeup map, and they cache
- Breadcrumbs for areas
- Arrangement for those I have given permission to (including myself!) to test the new pages on the live system, but to revert easily to the standard gazetteer for debugging
→ Release 9.35.18
Sunday 21 June 2020
- Change to "match" code to prevent issue 754 recurring at each release
- Added basic navigational notes plugin to new gazetteer pages subsystem
- Removed typo in yesterday's (apparently undocumented!) attempt to fix issue 765.
- Added a suddenly appeared ".well-known" folder to the beta-to-live exclude list to allow this release to work
→ Release 9.35.18.1
- Added areas to api/place_photo so they work for user pages
Sunday 28 June 2020
- Better use of local variables in route entry prevents lockup when deleting place with overnight stop (fixes issue 774 and, I will be very surprised if not, issue 771).
- Much better approach to closeup maps in new pages - simplifies workflow and reduces amount of code needed
- Fixed bug where closeup maps were being regenerated unnecessarily: significantly reduces work on typical route
→ Release 9.35.18.3
