What Changed in March 2015
Sunday 1 March 2015
- Work on navigational notes for waterways
- Made them actually editable
- Made menu item to add them only appear if you are logged in
- Made menu item say "Add" - it was designed for submenus so didn't
- Made delete work
- These only show and display at the right level (ie, only waterways with places can have navigational notes)
- For all navigational notes, place details etc: prevented "delete" if only just being created
- Fixed (pre-release) a bug where caches of Google searches, FB pages etc weren't regenerating automatically (as in issue 1006).
- Fixed code so that this works for structures as well
→ Release 9.23.8
- Fixed bug that prevented overnight stopping column in CSV export (issue 1004)
- Last release meant nothing could be deleted, not just empty records
- Fixed as much of issue 979 as practical. Improved logging of changes to navigational notes.
→ Release 9.23.8.1
To Saturday 28 March 2015
- Added option in "major edit" to regenerate the database
- Major work on new PDF generation - now uses a queuing system to prevent multiple instances running which seemed to confuse things, generates the three parts separately and merges them (avoids a bug with shared font files) and generates maps as images separately and then references them (improves layout and avoids it getting confused). Users get a progress report and comprehensive logs are kept to help in any debugging needed
→ Release 9.24 (to beta)
Sunday 29 March 2015
- A few tweaks for PDF after testing:
- Removed "show places" button from daily maps in PDF
- Restored not showing daily maps by default
- Adjusted timings to reduce likely time-outs
- You are now returned to the route editor, not the home page
→ Release 9.24.0.1
- Fixed a long-standing typo that meant that sometimes loading a ring (when picking a start place on the ring) failed.
- Avoided some rings reporting they wouldn't plan correctly because of unrestored waterways
- More tweaks for PDF generation
- Fixed a bug that gave an error page instead of a route if you had marker places turned on
- Changed PDF concatenation and made it very much quicker indeed (from about the slowest stage to almost instantaneous)
→ Release 9.24.0.2
Tuesday 31 March 2015
- Fixed an occasional problem introduced in the ring code that affected furthest place
- Several tweaks to showing why a route wasn't possible
→ Release 9.24.0.3
