As an early evening treat we are about to cross what is claimed to be the oldest navigable aqueduct in the world.

The inscription stone reads " Premier Pont-canal invention due au Genie de P.P.Riquet 1676 " Also it was the first of the Aqueducts constructed on this waterway.
